$7.00 / Coming Soon
Sanity Muffin brings you another underground private press early electronic music pioneering classic by Turkish born musician and composser Ilhan Mimaroglu. During the 60's Ilhan studied at the Columbia-Princeton Electronic Music Center, now famous for the studios groundbreaking works in the early electrinic music field. He worked with contemporaries Edgard Varese and Stefan Wolpe and compossed music for a body of work by Jean Debuffet. Wings of the Delerious Demon... was released in 1972 on his own private press label Finnadar Records. Most of the pieces within are early explorations with processing the clarinet through synthesizer filters, creating new organically charged analog sounds with a rich human breath-like undertone. Synth explorations sweep throughout the album, with bits of crashing sound collage-esque moments of spontanious beauty. Impossible to find now on vinyl, S/M has remastered and obtained permission to re-release this album on High Bias Type 2 Chrome tape for the very first time. Mimaroglu passed away 1 year ago. A Must have for any synth and early electronic music fan! Limited to 100 copies.
